**Frankie Knuckles** (1955–2014) was an American DJ and producer, universally known as the **"Godfather of House Music."** Born in the Bronx, he moved to Chicago in 1977 to become resident DJ at **The Warehouse**, where his pioneering blend of disco re-edits, drum machines, and seamless mixing helped birth the genre.

His productions and remixes — including "Your Love" (with Jamie Principle) and "The Whistle Song" — are house standards. In 2004 a stretch of Chicago street was named "Frankie Knuckles Way," and he received a Grammy for remixing. His influence is foundational and global.
