Frankie Knuckles (1955–2014) was an American DJ and producer, universally known as the "Godfather of House Music." Born in the Bronx, he moved to Chicago in 1977 to become resident DJ at The Warehouse, where his pioneering blend of disco re-edits, drum machines, and seamless mixing helped birth the genre.

His productions and remixes — including "Your Love" (with Jamie Principle) and "The Whistle Song" — are house standards. In 2004 a stretch of Chicago street was named "Frankie Knuckles Way," and he received a Grammy for remixing. His influence is foundational and global.
