Sónar

Southport Weekender

Southport / Minehead, United Kingdom · since 1987 — The UK's flagship soulful and deep house weekender; eclectic soul-rooted programming that became globally synonymous with soulful house.

Founded in 1987 by Alex Lowes (with Dave Gardner), it grew from a small soul caravan-site weekender into the premier global home of soulful house across rooms like the Powerhouse and Connoisseurs Corner. The flagship event ran its final edition in 2015.

Suncébeat

Tisno, Croatia · since 2010 — Soulful, deep and disco-leaning house festival; effectively the Croatian summer continuation of the Southport Weekender ethos.

Launched in 2010 by the Southport Weekender team at The Garden Resort in Tisno, Suncébeat carries the soulful/deep house tradition to the Adriatic and was first to bring artists like Larry Heard and Prosumer to Tisno.

Defected Croatia

Defected brought its festival to The Garden Resort in Tisno in 2016, pairing the main Defected house programming with the Glitterbox disco stage. The 2026 edition was announced as its final year, with original 2016 artists returning.

Glitterbox
